Quand ses doigts grattent une guitare ou touchent un piano, Alexis Normand (‘Aleksiss’) patronne une musique née de son univers intérieur: riche, sensible et enivrant. Ses douces mélodies colorées de jazz et de folk rappellent le vent envoûtant et les lumières apaisantes qui donnent vie aux plaines de la Saskatchewan. Diplômée de l’École nationale de la chanson en 2008, Alexis a reçu une nomination aux Western Canadian Music Awards pour l’album francophone de l’année, une nomination pour un prix de la Lieutenant Gouverneure Générale de la Saskatchewan dans la catégorie artiste émergeant ainsi qu'une nomination dans la catégorie de l'Auteur-compositeur francophone de l'année aux Prix de la musique folk canadienne.

When her fingers touch a guitar or piano, Alexis Normand delivers music that is downright seductive. Her soulful voice is hypnotic and her jazz-folk melodies in French and English recall the soft prairie wind and the enchanting glow of the living skies. Alexis released Mirador, her first full-length album, in January. In addition to receiving a nomination for Francophone album of the year at the Western Canadian Music Awards she was also nominated for Francophone songwriter of the year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards and was short listed for a Lieutenant Governor General of Saskatchewan award in the emerging artist category.
